This pioneering North Yorkshire project was designed as a timber straw-bale home and became the first certified Passive House Plus property of its type.
The original plans were to build to Code 6 standards, but following discussions with Ecowin, the project moved towards full Passive House certification.
Ecowin supplied Gaulhofer Fusionline 108 Plane glazing together with integrated external Venetian blinds and worked alongside its Passivhaus partner during the certification process.
The unusual design presented a number of challenges, making the successful certification an important example of
Ecowin’s experience with demanding low-energy and Passivhaus projects.
